New beginnings

January is traditionally the time to take stock and reflect on the previous year, and perhaps also to pause for direction for the next.
​
Hence I've been lying low at the start of 2025, staying away from social media and taking time to pause and work my way through some ideas and thoughts about the future.
​
One of the things we've decided, as our little birds have now all flown, is to put our house up for sale - our family home for the last 20 years - and now we find ourselves to my astonishment quite open to where we'll move to. It feels exciting, like an open page that we're about to write...
​
So keep watching here for any developments as to where our wanderings may take us and what new beginnings await.
Escape

As I'm going to be celebrating a rather significant birthday soon, I've made plans to enjoy a little bit of travel this year.
This winter more than most I've missed the sunshine, and found myself struggling with the background of awful world events. So it was wonderful just to escape for a week in January to the Canaries. I think we all need it on a doctor's prescription!

Inspiration
​
It has steeled my resolve to do more travelling and try to see a bit more of this beautiful world we live in. I'll be bringing sketchbooks and notebooks wherever I go to make the most of jotting down what I see.
My new handy little pocketbooks will be just the job for giving me a lovely little book of blank pages to carry around in my bag, that I can fill with lots of colourful scenes.
